Don't watch, Read
2D Amination & Video
Don't Watch, Read explores the contrast between the deep thinking fostered by reading and the superficial engagement often caused by short videos. The pixel animation follows an individual who begins to read but gets distracted by their phone, becoming obsessed with watching short videos. As the viewing period extends, the individual starts to feel increasingly terrible, prompting them to put the phone away and return to reading. The colour of the light in the animation is used to suggest different environments and moods, enhancing the narrative. The pixel art style creates distinctive visual effects, enhancing the attractiveness and communication of the animation. Through this piece, I hope to encourage viewers to prioritise reading, thereby enriching their minds and overall well-being.
